Dane started his musical journey playing the piano from age 8 to 10. After that he played the saxophone for 3 years. At 13, Dane began electric bass lessons and has never looked back. Within a year of playing bass, he joined a band of other young musicians which played all over California, received instrument endorsements, and performed at the '96 Olympic games in Atlanta. This experience helped prepare Dane for his future career in music. Since then, he has toured the country, played on numerous records, and given bass lessons. Recently, he has been studying music at City College in San Francisco where he plays in the Philharmonic, and has had the opportunity to study with Richard Fenner and Rebecca Mauleon-Santana among others.
When he's not playing bass with Pato Banton and The Mystic Roots Band, Dane enjoys playing with various other groups. For the past two years he has been playing with spanish guitar/latin jazz group David Correa and Cascada. They have been voted best latin band north of the bay area two years in a row. Cascada will be releasing an album in the US and internationally in '07 on Baja/TSR records. Dane plays 4 string, 5 string, and upright bass. He enjoys playing all styles of music and the endless pursuit of studying bass and music.
